If you are a welder you may like to use this simple welding billing sample for sending service invoices to clients at the end of a billing or project cycle. This simple format lists service items, amounts, and provides a total.

Compared to Welding Invoicing Format (template# c8003) here on, c5064 Simple Welding Billing Sample offers a much simpler invoicing layout and format. C8003 provides complete (and complex) calculation features for the service and materials a welder could serve in a welding and fabrication project. If you prefer to bill your clients with simpler description, such as "hand rail" or "ladder", but itemize things a proposal/contract, you may like this Simple Welding Invoicing Form. The another invoice layout, c8004 Welding and Fabrication Service Bill Template, offers exactly the same printable invoice form as c8003 Welding Bill Form, but simplify the calculation of prices and costs. With c7021 Welder Invoicing Template, we moved the shipping address section back into the printable range, and moved out the Type column to give more space to the Description column. With c6017 Welding / Fabrication Tax Invoice, we moved the Dimension column out of the printable area, and moved in the taxable column so that it is included in the printable invoice.

This template is implemented as a service Bill Sample, and thus does not offer the shipping address section on the form.

The difference between sales and service here on is simple - if a template contains the "Ship To" section on the printable section, we call it sales invoice. If it does not contain the "Ship To" section, it is categorized as service invoice. If the form has a very special design in its layout, such as Tax bill for Printing Shop, which moves the "Ship To" section (titled with "Delivery To") to the body of the spreadsheet form, we add the template to both the sales and service category. Simple Welding Invoice Template adheres to this rule too.

Like most other templates here on, Simple Welding Bill Template has a default logo image on the top of the invoice worksheet. This is a placeholder for your own logo image. To do this, you first have to unprotect the Invoice worksheet, and then switch the spreadsheet into design mode.

The protection of the "Invoice" worksheet in Simple Welding Invoice Template prevents accidental modifications to layouts and formulas. If you have Uniform Invoice Software installed, it could even display a warning message when you close a template without protecting the worksheet. However for the purpose of this sample, we should firstly unprotect the worksheet in Simple Welding Invoice Template.

In design mode, Microsoft Excel allows you to move, add, or delete controls or images inside Simple Welding Invoice Template. Note that if you have our invoicing program installed, and you are running Excel 2007, Excel 2010 and Excel 2013, it already provides a Design Mode button on the ribbon tab, so that you don't have to switch to design mode manually. Our invoicing software is able to turn a simple spreadsheet into a powerful invoicing system, with the ability to manage customers, products, bills and payments, it also includes various tools that could help you configure the layout of your form, such as the number of taxes and tax names and rates. If you don't have our invoicing program installed, here are how you can switch to design mode manually.

  • In Excel 2003 click the Design Mode button on the Control Toolbox toolbar. Tip: If the Control Toolbox toolbar is invisible, click Excel menu View > Toolbars > Control Toolbox.
  • In Excel 2007, Excel 2010 and Excel 2013, click the Design Mode button in the Controls group of the Developer tab.

TIP: If the Developer tab is not available in Excel 2007, do the following to display it: a) Click Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options; b) In the Popular category, under Top options for working with Excel, select the Show Developer tab in the Ribbon check box, and then click OK.

Or in Excel 2010 and Excel 2013 to display the Developer tab: a) Click File > Options > Customize Ribbon; b) In the area on the right, ensure that the box next to Developer is checked; c) When you click OK, the Developer tab will appear in the ribbon.

Once you have finished your design work for Simple Welding Invoice Template, click the Design Mode button again to exit design mode.

(Note that if you have installed the latest version of our invoicing software, Uniform Invoice Software, which is able to upgrade a simple template in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format into a complete invoicing system, you don't have to replace the logo image manually - you can replace the default logo image by clicking the "Replace Logo Image" button on the ribbon tab in Excel 2007, Excel 2010 and Excel 2013). To replace the default LOGO image in Simple Welding Invoice Template with your own image, follow the steps below:

  • Right click the Logo image, and then select Properties from the menu.
  • Click the Picture property, and then click the "..." button.
  • Browse to the folder containing your icon file. Select and open the icon file.
  • Close the Properties dialog box.
  • Drag the border of the image object to resize it, if needed.

If you don't need the LOGO image and want to delete it, simply hit the DEL key on your keyboard after you selected it with your mouse key. Deleting the LOGO image leaves an empty area to the left of the Company Information section. You may like to move the entire Company Information section to fill in the empty area. To do this: Drag your mouse to select the entire Company Information area, including Company Name, Street Address, City, ST Zip Code, etc.; Push your mouse key on the border of the selected area; drag it to the new location.

The template has 5 columns on the detail section within the printable invoice form - the 4 usual columns, Qty, Item, Price and Line Total are standard columns that could be found on the default template that is shipped with Uniform Invoice Software. The other column, titled with "Unit", is a custom field defined in both the Product and Invoice Body database table.

Uniform Invoice Software support custom fields or user-defined fields, which is a unique feature that allows you to add new fields to the backend database as well as to the spreadsheet form. Simple Welding Invoice Template uses custom fields to implement the features that are not available in the default template shipped with the invoicing program. With the support for custom fields in the database, Uniform Invoice Software has the ability to manipulate the newly added fields in database, includes adding them to reports. With the support for custom fields in the Excel worksheet, our invoicing app has the ability to create the relationship between fields - for example, one field should be the sum of the other fields, or the value of one field should be calculated only when another field value equals a certain value.

The support for custom fields makes it possible for even an end user who does not know programming at all, could add new features to her/his invoicing creator such as Simple Welding Invoice Template without writing one line of programming code. Feel free to Search and download more samples. Sometimes our customization samples are offered in two editions here on, that are one freeware edition, and another edition that works only with our invoicing software installed.

Both the freeware edition and the Uniform Invoice Software edition of this Simple Welding Billing Template offer exactly the same invocie design and layout, but for commercial purpose, if you need to manage your accounts and payments in an easy way, Uniform Invoice Software is your ideal choice.

The template has one tax set by default. If you use the Uniform Invoice Software edition of this template, changing taxing rules would be as easy as a few clicks of mouse.

If you use the Uniform Invoice Software version of Simple Welding Invoice Template, there are additional taxing options on the Taxes tab of the Settings window. The first is the option for choosing the number of tax items; you have 3 choices - no tax, one tax and two taxes. Secondly, you can set the names and rates in percentage for each tax, such as VAT, GST or PST, or simply Sales Tax. Thirdly, there are a group of checkbox options on the dialog box, including: "Tax invoice total including shipping cost", which adds the shipping cost to the taxable amount when checked; "Tax 2 is applied to tax 1", which adds the amount of "tax 1" to the taxable amount if checked; and "tax rate can be zero", which allows you to set any of the tax rates to be the value of zero. If you modify the options on this dialog box, the spreadsheet will be changed accordingly if needed.

Note that custom fields is a powerful feature introduced by previous version of Uniform Invoice Software (UIS), i.e. Excel Invoice Manager. The support for custom fields in Excel Invoice Manager requires a database definition file ("FDINFO10.rst") to be present in the folder where the database file was installed. With UIS, using custom fields is much simpler than in Excel Invoice Manager, and the database definition file is no longer required.

Like other form designs here on, Simple Welding Invoicing Form is free (offered to you at a price of 0.00USD). It works on Windows XP and all newer versions of Windows, and Excel 2007, 2010, 2013 or 2016.
