Detail

Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2) is a variant of Receipt Template for Gold Shop (1). This free receipt template differs from the original one in that Marking Charge is now moved into the printable receipt form.

The cash receipt templates here on InvoicingTemplate.com calculates the line total of each item being sold by using the formula: Weight * Rate + Marking Charge. Both free receipt templates, Receipt Form for Gold Shop (1) and Receipt Form for Gold Shop (2), use the same formula for calculating line total.

However with Receipt Form for Gold Shop (1), the Marking Charge column is placed outside the printable receipt form. This means that, although you can fill in the marking charges manually into the fields, and the Excel formulas with add making charges to line totals without problem, the making charges will not show on printed invoices, or extracted invoices if you are using Uniform Invoice Software.

If you are one of those gold shop owners who want to display making charges clearly on invoice for each item being sold, this customized free receipt template is for you. With this Receipt Form for Gold Shop (2), we move in the marking charge column into the printable receipt form, so that it shows on both the printed receipts and extracted receipts in case you are using the Uniform Invoice Software version.

To create the receipt sample there are 3 main steps - unprotecting the Invoice worksheet, adjusting the existing column to leave space for the new column, moving in the Making Charge column.

The protection of the "Invoice" worksheet in Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2) prevents accidental modifications to layouts and formulas. If you have Uniform Invoice Software installed, it could even display a warning message when you close a template without protecting the worksheet. However for the purpose of this sample, we should firstly unprotect the worksheet in Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2).

To adjust the existing columns to leave space for new column or columns that will be added to the printable form for Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2), we first unmerge the item# (or product#), description and quantity columns - these are usually merged columns that each contains several Excel raw columns. To do this, after opening Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2) as usual, select all the cells belong to these columns and then click the "Merge and Center" button on the Format toolbar in Excel 2003; in Excel 2003, the "Merge and Center" button can be found on the Home ribbon tab. Drag your mouse to select the Description column (this time, you select Excel raw column since the Description is no longer a merged column) and drag it one column left. Select the "oknProductName_1" cell (the first cell on the moved Description column) and drag your mouse to select the two adjacent cells at the right-hand too - so, you now select 3 cells started with the "oknProductName_1" cell. Now click the Merge and Center command again. This will expand the width of "oknProductName_1" to 3 columns. Do this process for all the other Description cells. Once done, you have one empty column that was left by moving the Description column to the left-hand of this original position. Adjust the columns widths of all the columns to make sure they have the proper widths that are able to hold the content they will display on this Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2).

Moving a cell or a group of cells is easy in Excel. First, you click to select the cell or drag your mouse to select all the cells you want to move. And then, drag the border of the selected area to move it to the new location where you want to place the cell or cells. The moving content will overwrite the content in the target location, so make sure the target range is empty (not used) in Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2) before doing the movement. And, if the target location contains merged cells, sometimes the movement fails. So it is also helpful to make sure the target location does not contain merged cell. If the target location Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2) is overlapping the original range and the original range contains merged cells, the movement could also fail because you cannot change part of merged cell - if this happens, you need to first move the cells to a temporal location in Receipt Template for Gold Shop (2) that are empty (i.e. not used), unmerge cells, and then move the cells from the temporal location to the desired location. If you need to unmerge a cell, first select it and then click the "Merge and Center" command on the Format toolbar in Excel 2003; or click the "Merge and Center" command on the Home ribbon tab in Excel 2007, 2010 and Excel 2013.

There is no need to adjust the formulas on this customized receipt template, as the formulas defined in the original receipt template work fine for this new receipt template.

Like other form designs here on InvoicingTemplate.com, Receipt Form for Gold Shop (2) is free (offered to you at a price of 0.00USD). It works on Windows XP and all newer versions of Windows, and Excel 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 or 2016.
