This two taxes invoice sample was created based on c2019 Blank Sales Invoice Format (One-tax). This customized template has similar layout as the original version, but differs from the original in that it has two taxes.
The tax names are set to its default values, "TAX1" and "TAX2". To change the tax names and rates, simply unprotect the "Invoice" worksheet by clicking the "Unprotect Sheet" command in the "Review" Excel ribbon tab. All the templates here on InvoicingTemplate.com are protected by default. This is a good way to prevent modifications to the layout and formulas of the template. All editable / fillable cells are unlocked so that they are selectable and editable even when the spreadsheet is protected. To set / view the locking status of a cell, first unprotect the sheet, and then right-click the cell you want to set, choose Properties. On the "Protection" tab of the "Format Cells" dialog box, you'll find the "Locked" property. If this property is checked, the cell will not be editable / fillable when the sheet is protected.
All templates that work with Uniform Invoice Software should be protected. This is highly recommended because without the protection, it is very easy to overwrite the static text labels (such as your company name, the column headings etc.) For this reason, Uniform Invoice Software even prompts on closing a template - if a template is not protected and you try to close it, it will prompt and ask you whether you want to protect it.
You should unprotect the "Invoice" worksheet only when you are designing the layout and format of the template. Uniform Invoice Software itself provides a "Design Mode" button on its own ribbon tab. If you push this button, it in fact do 3 things - firstly, unprotect the sheet; secondly, push down the design mode button on Excel's own Developer ribbon tab, and thirdly, switch on gridlines and row/column headings. Click the design mode button again to reverse all these 3 operations.
The default sales invoice template shipped with Uniform Invoice Software also has two taxes set by default, which are named GST and PST.
If you use the Uniform Invoice Software version of Blank Sales Invoice Layout (Two-tax), there are additional taxing options on the Taxes tab of the Settings window. The first is the option for choosing the number of tax items; you have 3 choices - no tax, one tax and two taxes. Secondly, you can set the names and rates in percentage for each tax, such as VAT, GST or PST, or simply Sales Tax. Thirdly, there are a group of checkbox options on the dialog box, including: "Tax invoice total including shipping cost", which adds the shipping cost to the taxable amount when checked; "Tax 2 is applied to tax 1", which adds the amount of "tax 1" to the taxable amount if checked; and "tax rate can be zero", which allows you to set any of the tax rates to be the value of zero. If you modify the options on this dialog box, the spreadsheet will be changed accordingly if needed.
A sales invoice is a bill to the customer, after a sale has been ordered. It is usually sent to the buyer prior to delivery of the goods or product. It is considered a request for formal payment. In some cases, the sales invoice might indicate the terms of payment. From a buyer's standpoint, the sales invoice represents a receipt for their expenditure. In a tax audit, the IRS usually compares business expenditures to their specific sales invoices. Because the importance of sales invoices, instead of a pure Excel, Word or Adobe PDF formatted templates, you should always upgrade to an invoicing software app whenever possible, such as Uniform Invoice Software.

This is the fourth template in our blank sales invoice template serial. With this customized format we reduce the lines on the invoice body so that each line accepts a longer product description.
With this sample template, the base template is customized to show one tax (sales tax) on the bottom of the printable form. The tax amount is calculated using Excel formulas.
This simple blank template has two taxes on the bottom of the printable form identified by the Print_Area Excel range name. The detail section allows up to 6 products / items.
Sometimes an invoice is also referred as purchase invoice from the view of the buyer. This general-purpose Excel-formatted purchase invoice sample includes two editable/fillable columns, Description and Amount, and a Taxable checkbox column.
