This packing slip template in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format (".xlsx") is a customized version of our original packing slip template. The main difference between the two formats is that this new version contains 25 lines, and with the original design it is 12.
A packing list or packing slip has a close relationship to invoice. Invoice Manager for Excel (UIS), which is our invoicing and billing software based on Microsoft Excel, could be helpful on creating packing slips too. Besides the original template this template is based on, there are other samples published online here on InvoicingTemplate.com too. For example, c3010 General Waybill, and c4078 Invoice and Packing List on Same Form, which provides a sample on how to put the packing slip / packing list and the invoice on the same worksheet - this way, whenever you print an invoice, a packing list is printed too; and c4080 Invoice and Packing List on Separate Worksheet, this sample template demonstrates how to use two separate templates, one invoice template and another packing slip template, and having both templates connect with one same Microsoft Access database in the background, so that the two templates could share data.
Even we've added many new lines to the form design, it still works with UIS well. The trick here is that all cells that should work with the backend database are identified by names. All templates we published here on InvoicingTemplate.com adhere to this rule. For example, on the "Product#" column, the cells are named as "oknProductID_1", "oknProductID_2", "oknProductID_3", and so on.
The packing list template could be used either alone, or together with an invoice template, on same computer. In the latter case, make sure the two templates are connected with same database in order to share data. To do this, click the "Settings" button on the "Invoice" ribbon tab, go to the "Database Tab", click the "Open Database" to browse to and open the database file you want to use.
This design uses mainly the "Segoe UI Symbol" font, which is ideal for both printing and screen display purpose.
Note on the bottom of the form there is a "Notes" field. This is a free-form text field that you can enter any additional information not detailed elsewhere on the packing slip.
While Microsoft Word, and other Office programs such as Publisher and even PowerPoint, are able to produce beautiful and professional business forms, it is much easier with Excel to work with structural data. This is one of the main reason UIS choose Microsoft Excel as the front-end.
