Microsoft Office for Mac includes all the major applications available in its Windows version, including Word and Excel. While for now Uniform Invoice Software is a Windows desktop invoicing software program based on Excel, our free blank invoicing templates and billing forms use pure-Excel features, which enables you to adapt our invoice formats on your Mac system.

You can download any template here on for free. Most of our templates are Excel ".xlsx" format packaged in a self-extracting Windows ".exe" file. If you choose to use our free Excel invoice templates on Mac, be sure to read the document "create / customize invoice template", which describes the basic design rules to follow when you want to customize our templates. Also refer to Microsoft Excel documents to get more details. Also be noted, due to the large number of users who download and use our templates, we're not able to provide timely technical support to users of our free templates. Our templates and forms are not tested on Mac, so use them at your own risk.

How to make invoice on mac using UIS

This is a frequently asked question - how to I run Uniform Invoice Software on Mac?

The answer is NO.

Uniform Invoice Software (or Excel Invoice Manager prior to August 2013) is a COM add-in program runs inside Microsoft Excel application process on Windows. For now it does not run on Mac.

However our templates are pure Excel workbook files that work on Mac. Visit Mac Invoice Templates for more information. Without UIS, a simple template itself does not offer much features, but it is able to format your invoice data in the right way - i.e. it does enable you to make invoice on Mac easily.

If you need a more complete system for invoicing on Mac, there are many programs or online invoicing systems you can try.

For example, you can use Apple Pages to format your document easily, as detailed on the tutorials How do I Make a Template in Apple's "Pages" or Creating an invoice with Apple's Pages.   3. Choose the location to save new workbook file.

The "Extract/Email" command is located on the task pane when the "Invoice" worksheet is active. It works in two ways depending on the options you set on the "Extract/Email" tab of the Settings window. Firstly, it could extract the current invoicing form - this means that, a separate Excel workbook file will be created, and it contains only the current invoice. Secondly, it could also generate electronic invoice in Adobe PDF, Excel spreadsheet or image (PNG) format, and then send the invoice to the customer - when sending the invoice, Uniform Invoice Software looks at the email field of the invoice itself, if not found then look at the customer record. The invoicing program is also able to send a BCC copy to the email address you specified on the Settings window. If any error occurred in the process of sending email, it records the error message with the invoice itself, which could be found when you open an invoice on the "Invoice Edit" window - by double clicking an invoice on the "Invoices" window, or by clicking the "View Detail" command on the task pane. On the other hand, if no error occurred in the process of sending email, the last balance due and sent date is recorded.

Like most other invoice templates available here on, the engineering invoice template has a "Print Area" name defined which refers to the area on the center of the spreadsheet form. This is the printable area that defines the actual invoice format and layout. If you click the Print button on the invoice form of the Uniform Invoice Software version, or click the "Print" command in Excel, only the section defined by the "Print Area" name will be printed. And similarly, if you execute "Extract" command in Uniform Invoice Software, only the section referred by the "Print Area" will be kept.
