Similar to c4003 "Invoice Template with Summary on Top", this customer invoice template has that section moved to top. We've also made other layout changes to this template so that you have more choice for the invoices sent to your customers.
The most noticeable changes to this template happens on the "Bill To" section, where it shows the details of the customer / client for whom the current invoice is created for.
Like many other templates here on InvoicingTemplate.com, this section has a gray- square button without text on it. If you have used any of our templates, you know it is a "Click to select a customer" button. Clicking this button to bring up a list of existing customer accounts that you had already invoiced for. Double-click an entry on the list have all the customer's information populated into the "Bill To" section, including name, address, city, state and zip, phone, and all the other fields you choose to show on the form, such as email and other custom fields you created.
If you know the customer# of an existing customer, you can also retrieve the customer information by entering the customer# into the corresponding cell (in this sample, it is outside the printable area). This is called in-cell lookup in Invoice Manager for Excel. You can control this behavior on the "Settings" dialog box / "In-cell lookup" tab.
To make it easier to find information of an existing customer, you can also use the "on-sheet picker" button. It is a dynamic button that shows automatically when you click a supported cell. For example, if you click a cell inside the "Bill To" section, clicking the on-sheet picker button allows you to select a customer; if you activate the "Sales Rep. Name" cell, clicking the on-sheet picker button allows you to select a sales representative name.
If the customer is new, you have to enter the information manually and leave the customer# cell blank. Click the "Save As New Customer" button to have a new customer account created and a customer# assigned to it automatically. To view the other information of the customer, with the Customer# cell filled with a correct value, click "View Customer Info." button to open the "Customer Edit" window, where you can edit all information related to the customer, including account balance, credit, date of account creation, updated date, and there is also a "Notes" field you can use to make comment on this customer.
