Detail
This simple invoice template and bill format demonstrates how you can add the feature of change calculation to an existing form design by using Excel formulas. This could be useful for businesses who receive payments in cash frequently.
The template add 3 new fields to the left bar of the form. The first one is titled with "Total", which is the total amount the customer has to pay. The value of this cell is got from the "Total" cell on the bottom by using this formula:
=oknTotal
The second cell is titled with "Paid". If you click the cell that allows you to enter the payment amount, you'll notice the cell is named "oknPaymentBeforeChange", which differs from default "oknPayments" cell in the default template shipped with Invoice Manager for Excel. This is the only manually editable one in this section, identified with a special background color.
The third cell is "Change". The cell has an Excel formula cell assigned:
=oknPaymentBeforeChange-oknTotal
As you've already known, this cell is the amount of change you have to pay back.
This template was originally published on uniformsoft.com as c5-021. We revisited it here on InvoicingTemplate.com to make it work well with the latest version of Invoice Manager for Excel. The following description from Invoice Manager for Excel could help you get a better understanding of the billing format with change calculation. For more business invoice samples and templates visit business invoice template.
If you are running a retail store or shop, you may need a feature that could calculate change to pay back automatically. For example, if the invoice total is 105.75 and the customer pays 108.00, you would own them 0.25 cents. With this free invoice template, you just enter 108.00 into the payment cell and it calculates the change to give back (i.e. 0.25) using a simple Excel formula.
