How to Use

Assuming you have downloaded and installed Uniform Invoice Software:

  1. Download Bill Format for Lamp / Lighting Business. Double-click the downloaded file to extract all files.
  2. Open the template "bill-format-lamp-lighting-business.xlsx" or "bill-format-lamp-lighting-business-uis.xlsx" with Microsoft Excel.
  3. Click "Design Mode" on the "Invoice" Excel ribbon tab to put it into design mode.
  4. Enter your business information and replace the default logo image to make it your own. (How?)
  5. Click "Design Mode" again to exit design mode.
  6. Create invoice (tutorial movie)!

Detail

For business who are specialists in lamps, bulbs and tubes for many hi-tech and specialized applications, this invoicing format might be helpful. This layout is printable with A4 paper in landscape orientation.

As a vendor of lamp / lighting solutions, through effectively engaging with your customers and fully understanding their lamp requirements, you provide a service and product which will significantly improve your customer's service aims and reduce equipment down-time. Besides that, you should also provide professional invoices to show your clients that you are not only care about your main business, but also every detail that are related to your business.

This template is designed with a UK business in mind, so the layout meets the requirements of a UK VAT invoice. For example, below your business detail section a "VAT Registration #" label was added. The default tax name is also set to "VAT" and the default rate is set to 17.5%. You can change the taxation rules on the "Taxes" tab of the "Settings" window.

This sample is designed as a sales invoice template, so it includes the shipping address section where you can specify where the goods will be sent to. Note that the "Same As Bill To" button that we usually put near the "Ship To" section does not work for this template, as the "Bill To" section uses custom fields for address and postal code information.

Since this template is designed for standard A4 paper in landscaping orientation, the "Description" field is relatively long compared to many other templates here on InvoicingTemplate.com. This is recommended by one our customers that is a vendor of special purpose lamps. The business offers a wide range of products - for medical equipment, like "Lunar LED Headlight System" and "Saturn Xenon Lightsource and Fibre-optic headlight"; and there are also lamps and bulbs for scientific and laboratory equipment made by many different manufacturers.

Note that "Due Date" field in this sample has an Excel formula assigned:

=IF(oknPaymentTerm="Net 30", DATE(YEAR (oknInvoiceDate), MONTH (oknInvoiceDate) +2,0), oknInvoiceDate )

This formula means that if "oknPaymentTerm" equals to "Net 30", the "Due Date" will be the end date of the next month to the invoice date; giving any other values to "oknPaymentTerm" causes the "Due Date" to be the invoice date. The "oknPaymentTerm" cell referenced in the above formula is placed outside the printable invoicing form.

Besides the standard fields defined in the standard invoicing template shipped with Uniform Invoice Software, this sample also added a number of custom fields (user-defined fields), such as "Order Received Date", "Weight", "Packages", and a custom column on the detail section "SC" (Support Code).
