All our templates are pure-Excel format spreadsheet documents without macros. Each template provides a customized invoice layout for Invoice Manager for Excel, which is originally named "Excel Invoice Manager". A PDF template (see all our PDF invoice templates) is also provided along with each Excel spreadsheet template, which is generate using Invoice Manager for Excel.
Invoice Manager for Excel is an Excel add-in program that runs inside Excel. By connecting the front-end Excel template with a backend database (could be Microsoft Access database or SQL Server database), Invoice Manager for Excel provides and powerful features that could hardly be implemented with only Excel. By seamlessly integrating Excel with backend database, Invoice Manager for Excel is able to manager your data in an organized and safe way, and thus being able to offer time-saving features like automatic invoice numbering, flexible search bar that allows you to locate your data (customer, product, invoice) easily.
In the effort to provide you with free customized invoicing templates that are specific to different small business, InvoicingTemplate.com published several blank bill forms that are suitable for auto repair or car mechanics service. For example, Auto Repair Invoicing Sample, which has the same layout as the version published for Excel Invoice Manager on office-kit.com, i.e. Auto Repair Invoicing Template, and the version published on our company web site UniformSoft.com, i.e. Automotive Repair Invoicing Sample. There is also a revised template published here for the original auto repair bill format, at Blank Vehicle Repair Invoice (2), which added a drop-down list for the field of vehicle model. The Sample for Automotive Invoicing is a special auto service invoice format that was originally shipped with Excel Invoice Manager as a sample on how to customizing an template.
For an auto service billing format where you can list service labor and parts / materials in different sections, and thus a different tax rate could be set for each section, visit Parts and Labor invoicing sample (c4071).
With this new design, Auto Repair Service Invoice with Car Lift Background Image, we keep the useful things like the "Insurance Information" section, the "R.O.#", "Year, "Make", "Model" and "Color" fields. The "Invoice Date" field now has a new label, "Date In". Add new field is also added below it, "Time In". This two fields are useful to auto care services.
The invoice detail section has 5 columns. The "#" column, which is usually labeled as "Item #" or "Product ID" on many other templates here on InvoicingTemplate.com, supports in-cell look up. Which means that, if you save an item in the "Products" table, with its "Product ID" set to "s001", its description set to "Standard Oil Change Quaker State® Advanced Durability Motor Oil", then when you are creating invoices (see the creating invoice tutorial movie), you can just type "s001" into one of the "#" cells to retrieve the description - of course, the unit price will also be retrieved too.
With this implementation, it also included a car lift image as the printable background. This makes the invoice design differs from others and tells what you do in an intuitive way. If you prefer to save some ink on printing (this won't be a problem if you send electronic PDF invoices only), you can remove the car lift image easy by following the steps below.
- Backup the Excel template.
- Open the template.
- Click the "Design Mode" button on the "Invoice" ribbon tab to switch to design mode.
- Go to Excel "Page Layout" ribbon tab and click the "down arrow" button in the "Page Setup" group. This opens the "Page Setup" dialog box.
- Click and activate the "Header / Footer" tab.
- Click the "Custom Header" button.
- Delete all the content in the "Center section" box.
- Click OK on each dialog boxes to close them.
- Exit design mode by clicking the "Design Mode" button again on the "Invoice" ribbon tab.
- Save the template by clicking the "Save" button on Excel quick access toolbar.
That is! Now you have a revised version of our Auto Repair Service Billing Sample without the car lift background image.
To set the taxing options for this template, click the "Settings" button on the "Invoice" worksheet, and then go to the "Taxes" tab.
